Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct

We believe that Respect, Rights and Responsibility are interconnected. To achieve what we value most at our school, we accept and support the responsibilities that come with belonging to our school community.

We believe everyone should demonstrate honesty and integrity. We value a safe and supportive learning environment; therefore, there is no smoking, alcohol or drugs, no throwing of snowballs or ice, and no roller blades or skateboards. We support the safe use of school equipment.

We will demonstrate respect for people, especially those in authority. We will not tolerate bullying or harassment. We will keep our hands and feet off others; value the differences in others; use appropriate language, responses and manners; respect school property and resources and respect our neighbours’ property.

We will arrive ready to learn by bringing supplies such as pens, pencils, rulers, binders and books to class, bringing and using the student planner, attending school daily and arriving on time, having a positive attitude and being committed to performing at a high standard.

We value an educational program that is challenging. We provide programs that are interesting, relevant and challenging, modified or accommodated to meet special needs and designed to enrich co-curricular opportunities.

Students are expected to conduct themselves as good neighbours and will be accountable for their behaviour while travelling to and from school, including during nutrition breaks.

All members of the school community must:

  • Respect the need of others to work in an environment that is conducive to learning and teaching, including by ensuring that cell phones and other personal mobile devices are used only during instructional time (as directed by an educator), for health and medical purposes and/or to support special education needs.

Reporting of Concerns or Issues

Students are able to report incidents or issues of concern by dropping a note at the office or speaking privately with their teacher. Incidents or concerns may also be reported by accessing the school’s website and the link “Report Bullying Anonymously”.
